I am absolutely bursting with excitement! It has been terribly hard to wait for this maternity photo shoot reveal! As usual, our beloved Sommer with BOKA Images has given us photos that we not only adore but will cherish for a lifetime. Her idea to incorporate the “We Love You Already” banner turned out perfectly and she did an amazing job of capturing the essence of our growing family.
Although these are not all of the images from our maternity photo shoot, I hope these particular shots help spark ideas for pregnancy announcements or 3rd trimester maternity sessions. This particular theme can easily be customized to fit the style or preference of any family.
I created this cute banner the night before our time in front of the camera. It is made of black ribbon, precut letters, scrapbook paper, and a card stock heart. With some glue and a hole punch, I was able to string together this sweet little number which is now hanging in our home with a sonogram of our baby. I was nervous to incorporate black into our maternity photo shoot but love the way it pops in our new family images.
We have given much thought to the way a newborn will impact Toddler A. We want him to be excited about his new sibling but still feel loved and cherished. We have worked hard to incorporate him, in as many positive ways as possible, through this journey including doctor appointments, buying baby gifts, feeling the baby move, reading stories about growing families, and talking about his thoughts and feelings concerning a new baby. He actually wasn’t too pleased about taking pictures on this particular day, but my heart melted when I first took in this shot. So far, he seems to be thrilled about our new addition and I’m pleased that this sentiment was captured.
It took me some time to consider how we would go about a maternity shoot for our second baby. The “We Love You Already” theme turned out to be the perfect answer. I think it helps convey the way we love one another, adore our son, and cherish the blessing we have been given in our second child. I’m also grateful to have beautiful images of my baby bump. Pregnancy seems to go too quickly for me and I know I will love looking back on these images just as I do with Toddler A’s time in my tummy. Are there other images or themes you have fallen in love with for second pregnancy announcements or photo shoots? Please share them!
