Toddler Swim & Sun Outfits

I am a four seasons girl! There are many things I love and appreciate about each one and if I lived somewhere warm year around, I’d miss the qualities each has to offer. The fall brings beautiful reds, yellows and oranges as the Aspen trees change colors and the chill in the air makes me want to throw on a sweatshirt with my flip flops. Heading into winter I’m always excited for ski season and adore cuddle time with my family. For a brief period during the spring, the beautiful rolling green hills make me feel like I live in Ireland. For me, summer is always about water. It’s about lake days, pool time, sprinklers, slip-n-slides, water tables, and squirt guns.

As I write this, I can practically feel the relief the cold water gives me from the sun beating down on me. As a child, I lived in my swim suit in the summer running between the sprinklers and my grandparents’ or girlfriends’ pools. I must have spent thousands of hours during my childhood in water and I’m quite relieved I never turned into a permanent prune as my Grandma Betty thought I might. As I got older, boating and floating down rivers replaced water wings and pool toys. But, I still loved being around water just as much. And now, having my own son allows me to enjoy all of these things all over again! So in honor of my love for the water, here are a few toddler swim and sun outfits. (Even though I only have a little boy, I couldn’t leave out little girls anymore!)

  1. I’m glad you included the rash-guard shirts. Sometimes I feel like the only mom whose kiddo wears one. I just don’t want a sunburned belly or his skinny ribs on display for all to see 😉 Plus the life jacket rubs less I think.

    1. Yes, I totally agree! Plus, lake and river water in our area can still be chilly even in the summer. I’m not expert, but it makes me think it might keep him a bit warmer too.
