Today’s Mommy Juice Pick: Irish Hot Chocolate Buzz
Why I Picked This Mix: Friends, we are in the dead of winter. Our sun blazes through clear skies on most days, which is why getting a skiing sunburn in Wyoming is a real thing, but our bone chilling temps are difficult to ignore! When freezing time hits our town, I feel the need for some warmth and comfort.
Olaf does not frequent my living room so there are days I’m left yearning for a warm hug, if you know what I mean. Enter two of my top mommy feel goods: chocolate and liquor. Together they help create an Irish Hot Chocolate Buzz which is my idea of a cozy embrace in a cup. Give it a try! It will heat you right up on a cold night while satisfying your sweet tooth. I mean, sometimes this is all a gal needs, #amiright?!
We took a lighthearted approach in creating our Mommy Juice series. Along with loving the term, we hope this group of posts will help fellow moms to sit back, unwind, and enjoy a cocktail. We have a deep love for mocktails, as well, so this series is sure to have something for everyone. After all, we absolutely love enjoying a favorite drink with a great friend. So, here’s to you, girl! Cheers!
The Recipe / Ingredients:
- 6 ounces Boiling Water
- 2 tablespoons Hot Cocoa Mix
- 1/4 cup Semi Sweet Chocolate
- 1.5 ounces Baileys Irish Cream
- 1.5 ounces Jameson Irish Wiskey
- Bring your water to a boil.
- Grab your favorite mug.
- Fill your mug with the hot cocoa mix and semi sweet chocolate.
- Pour the Baileys Irish Cream and Jameson Irish Wiskey into your mug.
- Pour the boiling water into your mug.
- Stir all ingredients until well mixed.
- Sip slowly and enjoy!
The boiling water will melt most of your semi-sweet chocolate. However, there will be a little left at the bottom of your cup, providing one last little sweet treat after your final sip!

Kiddo Appropriate Alteration:
If you would like to take the “Irish buzz” out of this recipe, swap the Baileys Irish Cream for 1.5 ounces of heavy whipping cream. Then, trade the Jameson Irish Wiskey for 1.5 ounces of milk. Your littles will go bonkers for this warm, creamy drink!
