A Special B-Day & Summer Toddler Clothes!

Just a quick shout out to my insanely amazing dad on his birthday! This man has sacrificed his wants and desires for me and our family way too many times to count, has a level head even when dealing with his somewhat erratic daughter, gave me the gift of understanding other people’s point of views even when I disagree, is one of the most business savvy and results driven people I know, and makes me proud to call him my dad every day! Happy birthday dad! No one deserves a beautiful day and year more than you! We love you!

Around the time of my dad’s birthday, I always get the summer itch. I’m in to everything that screams summer including shorts, sandals and tees for my toddler. For everyday clothes, I don’t love to spend a lot of money on N. The boy plays hard, he gets dirty, and we ruin clothes. These days, some pieces only get one wear before there are permanent stains. That’s okay; it doesn’t bother me…unless I’ve spent too much on the item. However, I do enjoy picking a couple items for each season that can be mixed and matched and used for family pictures or special activities or events. Here is a mix of my favorites, some pricey and some not, for the summer season:

Boy 2014 Summer Clothes

1. Gap Stripe Chambray Shirt

2. Old Navy Faux-Suede Sandals for Baby

3. Gap Slub Pocket V-Neck Tee

4. J. Crew Boy’s Club Short in Lightweight Chino

5. Target Just One You™ by Carter’s® Infant Toddler Boys’ Striped Windbreaker Jacket

6. Gap Oxford Stripe Flat Front Shorts

7. Gap Colorblock Henley

8. The Children’s Place Indie Boat Sneaker

9. J. Crew Boys’ Baseball Sweatshirt

My absolute favorite is the J. Crew Boys’ Baseball Sweatshirt. So, of course it would be the most expensive in the bunch. I would wear this if they had it in my size. Where are your favorite places to find inexpensive and special items for your boys? Do you have the same strategy that I do?

  1. I love the mix and match, Kerst. Such a great idea! I do feel like it’s harder to find boy clothes especially when I need one, specific item to complete an outfit. I fall for Target clothes ALL the time because they are so trendy and often on sale. I also have no problem shopping second hand! I can often find perfectly good, brand name clothes for the boy. It’s great because he looks adorable and I don’t wince over stains and tears. Hmmm…an inspired future post! : )
