July is shaping up to be an exciting month at Jelly Bean Journals! We have reached out to some of the people we admire and adore the most and asked them to contribute to our July Guest Blog Month.
During this month you will find posts provided by amazing contributors on a variety of topics. Following our normal, weekly Tuesday and Thursday post format, you will get your first taste of these writers through a Tuesday introduction and then the subsequent Thursday post will be their articles.
We couldn’t be more excited about July Guest Blog Month and we hope you will show our contributors some good old fashioned Jelly Bean Journals love and enjoy these sweet treats as much as we do!
This Week’s Guest: Jenn
This week I’m pleased to introduce Jenn as our first guest blogger. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing her for about 8 years, now. She is a dynamic woman who epitomizes strength for me. Jenn is always open to swapping ideas and is committed to being a lifelong learner.
Jenn has been married for 8 years to her amazing husband and they have a beautiful soon-to-be four-year-old son, who “was the best surprise we’ve ever received” in Jenn’s words. Jenn is a birth mom and an adoptive mom. She truly believes that her family’s story was orchestrated by a loving God, and both experiences have only strengthened their faith. Jenn is passionate about books, pop culture, and babies of all ages. She also enjoys being crafty and indulging in her favorite coffee drinks.
Jenn earned her Bachelor of Elementary Education degree from the University of Wyoming, has taught second grade, and lived in Honolulu while completing her Master of Library and Information Science degree at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. This makes her a Master Librarian and Master Mommy in my book! She LOVES reading and has worked as a teen librarian for just shy of a decade. She loves helping other people fall in love with reading, as well.
It took Jenn and I a while to get to know one another even though our careers have kept us in close contact. Becoming new mommies within a few years of each other has helped to strengthen our bond and we have even more to talk about than ever before! I hope to someday be able to share Jenn’s initial story of motherhood with our readers because it is nothing short of inspiring. Until then, the post she created for Jelly Bean Journals this week is a MUST read for any toddler parent looking for reading and literacy ideas!
I can’t wait for you to indulge in her post this coming Thursday. You are sure to fall in love with her early childhood literacy ideas and gather some new inspiration to help your kiddo do the same! While you are waiting, check out the New York Times Article, Pediatrics Group to Recommend Reading Aloud to Children From Birth, she has shared with us.
