We openly and honestly talk about the good, bad, beautiful, and challenging things we have experienced being mommies. Being a mom also means finding other moms to lean on for support, sisterhood, and fun! Thus, enter our ongoing Mommy Juice Series and a recent night out with 39 awesome friends! With the Thanksgiving holiday wrapping up, we are plummeting directly toward Christmas. As I’ve mentioned probably a thousand times a year, I love this time of year. But, man is it a busy time. It seems like there are a thousand things to do to keep traditions alive and prepare for the holiday and our impending travel. Each year I like to make sure, in addition to purchased presents, our families receive a special gift from our kiddos. Life with a newborn and four-year-old is still as busy as can be, so this year especially, I needed something super easy and time friendly. This project Continue reading
Each autumn we trim our Russian Sage, or Perovskia Atriplicifolia, nearly to the ground. We do this to keep our plants healthy and thriving. Let me tell you, it works like a charm and these beauties bloom a gorgeous purple all through the following summer. Their aroma reminds me of hearty sage and they are loved by bumble bees. On hot afternoons our fence sounds like a buzzing electric line because of the busy pollinators working from one tiny flower to the next. Continue reading

We took a lighthearted approach in creating our Mommy Juice series. Along with loving the term, we hope this group of posts will help fellow moms to sit back, unwind, and enjoy a cocktail. We have a deep love for mocktails, as well, so this series is sure to have something for everyone. After all, we absolutely love enjoying a favorite drink with a great friend. So, here’s to you, girl! Cheers!

You know what is right around the corner don’t you? Valentine’s Day! I know, I know; I can’t believe it either. I love Valentine’s Day. I mean, I think I’ve made it pretty clear, I’m just a holiday person in general. While many people think Valentine’s Day is a sad reason for a holiday, I say let’s celebrate those people that make our lives full and beautiful! As I’ve shared before, I’m a firm believer in showing love to my people everyday of the year. But, why not take one day and scream from the rooftops Continue reading
I am so excited for New Year’s Eve this year. Along with several of our family friends, we have rented rooms at a local hotel that has a great pool for the kids. Between the five families, there will be at least 9 kiddos! For me, New Year’s Eve represents a time to reflect on the last year while looking toward the year ahead. So, I hate the idea of leaving N on a night that holds this meaning for me. But, I also love ringing in the New Year with friends. This year, Continue reading
As we head into the holiday season, I’ve been thinking about our family traditions surrounding Christmas. Some of my most vivid and favorite memories from childhood surround the holidays. After spending some time diving into these memories, I think it wasn’t so much the activity but what the activity represented that makes them my favorite. It was feelings of togetherness, lightheartedness, excitement, anticipation and love that stand out. Continue reading
