I asked and you delivered! This is one of my favorite Jelly Bean Journals series and this time the True Toddler Fashion on display is from your tiny self-dressers! Brace yourself for a repeat venture of a project I shared with you back in 2015 and then, again, with round two just this past May. I had asked if any of you would be up for sharing your own renditions of True Toddler Fashion, and boy did you deliver! Let’s go with part three of “TTF” where we explore and celebrate the true, self-created style of our toddlers!
Since losing my dad a decade ago, my mom has been rolling solo. Watching my mom lose her very best friend was almost worse than holding my dad’s hand for the last time. Part of me wanted her to find another companion. She certainly never planned to say goodbye to such a young husband and as each year rolled by without him, she was reminded of the plans they made but would never enjoy together. I watched this wear her down. She started to believe she would live the entire second half of her life alone. My fun loving and vivacious mother was turning Continue reading
Get ready to hear some hilarious mom truth in this not-so-expert review of a Yes to Tomatoes Face Mask. Epic failure using beauty products is just part of the mommy game for me! I also know about one of life’s best kept beauty secrets – laughing at myself!
I love decorating for my kids’ birthday parties and I go all-out, especially for their first birthdays. I suspect that this is something that will change as my kiddos get older because they will call the shots for their special days and probably end my party decorating craze era.
There are a couple of posts I want to make sure I write for, or about, both of my kiddos. This is one of those and it falls on the lighter side of things. Brace yourself for a repeat venture of a project I shared with you all back in 2015. (Yeah…2015…my dear goodness! TWO years ago?! Anyway…) Enter “True Toddler Fashion” where I explore the true, self-created style of a toddler!
When we got our hands on the birth story of a very special little lady as seen through the eyes of her father, we couldn’t put it down. We don’t often have the opportunity to experience the challenges of bringing babies into this world through the perspective of their dads. Michael Moline, a college instructor, loving husband and devoted father, has graciously agreed to let us launch a series using his writing on this very topic. He titled his memoir “Malia Mei: A Courageous Birth” and we will be sharing it in multiple parts on a bi-weekly basis right here on the blog. We couldn’t be more honored that he is allowing us to share his beautiful work and we think you will love it as much as we do. Please include your questions and thoughts in the comments and we will make sure Michael has the opportunity to address them.
MALIA MEI: A Courageous Birth

As I shared in “Loving Life with a Toddler: The Things I Most Appreciate Today” I was extremely surprised by how deeply I loved being the mom of a toddler. I must say that I have a completely different relationship with our little girl, Baby B, than with our little boy, Kiddo A, but I’m just as fond of her toddler stage. She regularly leaves me missing the two-year-old version of the boy who made me a mom and I delight in watching her explore, develop, and acquire knowledge.
Baby B is quick to Continue reading
