Here at Jelly Bean Journals, we honor our very purpose as a blog by celebrating all things sweet and sour about mommyhood. We openly and honestly talk about the good, bad, beautiful, and challenging things we have experienced being mommies. Being a mom also means finding other moms to lean on for support, sisterhood, and fun! Thus, enter our ongoing Mommy Juice Series, our third Mommy Juice event and a recent Momscow Mule Tour with 37 awesome friends! Scroll down to check out details about this event and the drinks we tried. Continue reading

Today’s Mommy Juice Pick: Hot Pumpkin Tom and Jerry
Why I Picked This Mix: I’m still not sure why white girls get a black eye for liking fall and all things pumpkin. Nor do I fully understand what being basic means, but I will readily admit that my favorite season, since forever, is fall. In turn, this may be why I fit the stereotype…but, let me tell you why I don’t care. Continue reading
Moms! We are offering another Mommy Juice Tour!
Join us in downtown Casper for a night of drinks featuring Moscow Mules and Moscow Mule inspired drinks. Our “Momscow Mule” Tour will feature sips and eats from some of our favorite local places including Raccas Pizzeria Napolentana, Gaslight Social, and Frontier Brewing Company and Taproom. Registration is required.
As always, transportation from Casper Executive Car and Limo will be provided for drop offs in Casper, Mills and Evansville. It’s the perfect way to spend time with old and new friends after the hustle and bustle of Halloween. (If you have a college sports fan in your life, have them catch the University of Wyoming vs Colorado State game at Frontier Brewing Company and Taproom at 5:00PM and let them know you will join them close to halftime! They can have a ride home at the end of the night, too, for an extra $8.) We call this a Mommy Juice Tour in honor of our series, but you don’t have to be a mommy to participate!
Your night will include great company, Moscow Mules and mule inspired drinks; dinner featuring pizza, bread, and salad; a ranking card to provide feedback on your drinks; entry to a copper cup prize drawing; and transportation (within the Casper, Mills and Evansville area)! Have your ride drop you off at Raccas Pizzeria Napolentana (430 S Ash St, Casper, WY 82601). We will take you home at the end of the night. You must be 21 years old to join us.
We had an awesome turnout and an amazing time on our Mommy Juice Margarita Tour and our Mommy Juice: Hang at the Hangar with Mystic Mountain Tour. Like last time, spaces are limited and your spot is not confirmed until your registration form is complete and payment arrangements have been made. No group registrations will be accepted.

I asked and you delivered! This is one of my favorite Jelly Bean Journals series and this time the True Toddler Fashion on display is from your tiny self-dressers! Brace yourself for a repeat venture of a project I shared with you back in 2015 and then, again, with round two just this past May. I had asked if any of you would be up for sharing your own renditions of True Toddler Fashion, and boy did you deliver! Let’s go with part three of “TTF” where we explore and celebrate the true, self-created style of our toddlers!
Since losing my dad a decade ago, my mom has been rolling solo. Watching my mom lose her very best friend was almost worse than holding my dad’s hand for the last time. Part of me wanted her to find another companion. She certainly never planned to say goodbye to such a young husband and as each year rolled by without him, she was reminded of the plans they made but would never enjoy together. I watched this wear her down. She started to believe she would live the entire second half of her life alone. My fun loving and vivacious mother was turning Continue reading
Get ready to hear some hilarious mom truth in this not-so-expert review of a Yes to Tomatoes Face Mask. Epic failure using beauty products is just part of the mommy game for me! I also know about one of life’s best kept beauty secrets – laughing at myself!
“Malia Mei: A Courageous Birth” is a memoir by Michael Moline, a college instructor, loving husband and devoted father, that includes his recollection of the joy, fear, and hardships leading up to and following the unexpected premature birth of his daughter. Jelly Bean Journals is honored to share their story in this multi-part, bi-weekly series. Continue reading
There are a couple of posts I want to make sure I write for, or about, both of my kiddos. This is one of those and it falls on the lighter side of things. Brace yourself for a repeat venture of a project I shared with you all back in 2015. (Yeah…2015…my dear goodness! TWO years ago?! Anyway…) Enter “True Toddler Fashion” where I explore the true, self-created style of a toddler!
Dear Kiddo A and Toddler B,
I want you to know…
I will always love you. Even on days when I’m frustrated or you don’t like me very much, my heart still swells with overwhelming adoration for you. This love is unconditional and will never change, even if I don’t agree with every choice you each make. My heart is permanently yours.
I will always fight for you. There are no two people more precious on this earth to me than you. Even if the cost is great, I will do everything in my power to make sure your situation is fair, healthy, and right. When it is time for you to make your own choices I will still stand in your corner, firm in my protective conviction. I believe you are worthy and capable of handling anything. I will be there to remind you to persevere when times get tough and I won’t be silenced or stopped. Continue reading
